Series 3 Episode 39

Skippy and the Wedding

Life at Habitat is disrupted when the famous wildlife film maker, Greg O’Neil comes to Habitat to film the mating dance of the Cape Barren Goose. He turns Kate into a researcher, the vet’s surgery into a production office and the children into unpaid assistants. Worse, Sonny sees there seems to be more than just friendship between Kate and Greg. While he is trying to get the cruise boat ‘Habitat Trader’ ready for tourists, everyone else is preoccupied with film making. When Lou tells Sonny that she thinks Greg is going to ask Kate to marry him, he tries to have a word with her but is continually interrupted by Greg. Thel is stung by an insect and is feeling a bit under the weather and on the day of the filming, Lou decides to stay at Habitat to keep her company.

When Thel decides to take a nap, Lou decides to do some work on the boat. The motor that is precariously supported slips, trapping Lou’s foot and punching a hole in the bottom of the boat. Skippy tries to get Thel but she has taken some medicine and won’t wake up. Skippy then goes to where the film crew is about to film the mating dance and hops between the birds, scattering them into the bush. Realising something is wrong, Sonny and Kate follow Skippy back to Habitat where they are able to rescue Lou. Kate reveals that Greg has asked her to work with him, not marry him – but there is going to be a wedding.
