Series 1 Episode 13

Skippy and the Polluted River

Kate’s grandfather Bill is a born-again greenie who runs a small farm up river from Habitat. He’s a crusty but loveable old man, and when some fish die in the river near his place, he stages a one-man demonstration at the local paper mill, for polluting the river.

However, Skippy, Lou and Jerry discover otherwise. Granddad was not always environmentally sound on his farm, and he himself is causing the pollution of the river – he has some old drums of pesticide stored in a shed and they have been leaking into the river and fouling it. The twins and Granddad learn that in the environment war, everyone must take care of his or her own little corner of the world.
