Skippy and Jerry are excited. Jerry’s pen pal is coming to visit. And the pen pal is no ordinary kid – his letters have told Jerry that his father an archaeologist who goes to exotic places, sometimes in physically dangerous locations, and often takes his son with him.
The boy turns out to be a fake. Asked to give a talk about Egypt, he fails, and going rock climbing with Jerry, he freezes in terror. In fact he’s got quite an ordinary family from a farm. But when he told his previous pen pals the truth, they didn’t want to know about him. So he made things up for a time and it worked – he got Jerry really excited didn’t he? At the end of the episode, he is ready to face up to himself as he really is and introduces his real father to the Hammonds and Skippy.
