Jerry & Lou

Jerry and Lou Hammond are ten-year-old non-identical twins.

They are the offspring of Sonny Hammond, a widower whose wife died when the children were small.

They are quite different in character.

Jerry has a ‘devil-may-care’ attitude to life. He loves the outdoors, the bush and everything that’s active and fun.

He is an independent-minded boy and sometimes rebels against authority, though he’s basically a good kid and he buckles down to whatever tasks that are given to him

His sister Lou (her real name is Louise) is just as much at home in the outdoors as her brother.

She’s always been the smaller of the two, but she delights in reminding everybody that she’s actually older than Jerry – she was born just twi minutes ahead of her brother.

But if Lou is not quite as big as Jerry, she’s certainly brighter – extremely bright in fact. Sonny is very proud of his daughter’s intellectual achievements.

Both Jerry and Lou are always seen together sharing adventures and pastimes in the bush and are very close as far as twins go. They share a special relationship with their father.
